Strengthening Communities Through Art

Explore the vibrant world of tile art created by Danielle Anderson, inviting community participation and inspiration through her large-scale projects designed to enhance public and private spaces.

Danielle Anderson is a ceramics and tile mosaic artist based in Tucson, Arizona, where she has been creating and teaching for more than 25 years. She began her career at Arts for All, an inclusive arts program for children and adults with disabilities, before joining Flowing Wells High School as both a special education and visual arts teacher. There, she founded the school’s ceramics program and grew it from a single-year elective into a comprehensive four-year course of study.

During her time at Flowing Wells, Danielle also developed a district-wide arts initiative that trained high school students to teach art in elementary classrooms—reaching more than 100 classes each year. She organized district art exhibitions that helped students create cohesive, gallery-ready bodies of work, and she established a citywide arts gala celebrating artists with disabilities and their families.

Danielle further expanded arts access by guiding students through the design and creation of large-scale public tile mosaics, teaching every stage of the process from concept to installation.

Today, Danielle continues her studio practice from her in-home workshop, where she offers small-group classes and creative gatherings for children and adults. She remains deeply committed to community collaboration and arts education, and she continues to design and build public tile mosaics for schools—currently completing her twelfth community tile project.
